On friendships...
Of the many things I still wish to be, I also wish to be a friend. And a good one at that. I used to find the quote "A friendship is the strongest ship because it never sinks" very corny but adult life has finally dawned on me the importance of good friendships. To be someone to share your problems with, or talk to when your folks don't get you- which though may require effort, it probably may not be as hard as you think, in comparison to scaling the Everest or swimming the English channel (purely subjective, I knowww). Once I came up with something I thought was funny, that I'm "thankful for the old friends and the new, and all the bad ones in between." It's true, don't you agree? Within that time, you learn and begin to separate the wheat from the chaff. You find people you're comfortable with, in your own damned skin. I have good friends that have been there for me, all the highs and lows- more the lows. I just hope to keep returning the favou...
